What kind of equipment do you use?

Powell Productions uses professional HD 1080i cameras and steady cam for extra smooth movement. Wireless microphones are used to capture your vows and music. Editing is completed on a MAC computer using dual screens with a digital non-linear editing program, Final Cut Pro software. * Hollywood professionals use Final CutPro as their editing software of choice. Wedding footage and montages are burned onto DVD-R discs, which are compatible with most DVD drives and players unless you request Blu-ray DVDs. (Clients may request Blu-ray DVDs- Please see Additional Services for pricing). VHS tapes are available upon request.

 

Are you obtrusive?

Absolutely not. Your wedding coverage will be elegant, tasteful, and low key. Powell Productions does not use several cameras or bright lights that stand out or interfere with your wedding. Instead, one to two high quality cameras with tiny, inconspicuous mics will be used to capture direct coverage of your wedding with minimal distraction. Jack will also attend your wedding rehearsal prior to your wedding day to ensure all equipment are set up to allow for the best footage possible.

 

Do you edit the wedding footage?

Yes, Powell Productions will edit your wedding footage with Final Cut Pro software, the "number one choice among professional editors worldwide." Final Cut Pro software allows for high quality digital nonlinear editing and numerous creative possibilities. Our high-performance editing software delivers customized image and sound quality to create an unforgettable DVD of your wedding.

What is the process for booking Powell Productions?

First, start by calling owner and videographer, Jack Powell, at 301-509-4842. Ask to set up a free, no obligation consultation appointment and Jack will meet you at a location most convenient to you. You will be provided with some literature about Powell Productions and given the opportunity to ask Jack any questions you may have. If and when you feel comfortable, you may ask for availability and choose to book your wedding. A 50% down payment is required to secure your wedding date.
